A realization about God's presence

It's been two years since I've posted to this blog. So many changes have occurred in my life--major changes. But, they've all been good. This morning as I was talking with a wonderful friend who spent the night with me last night, I realized another time in my life when God was working through me. It was over 15 years ago and I had a student who was a convicted felon and very distrustful of adults, particularly white adults. Over the course of that school year, he began to open up to me. I got to a point where I felt comfortable asking questions about his life. He would answer them. He made it clear he was only coming to school because he was required to by his probation officer. At the end of the year, he hugged me as he left the classroom. I have not seen him since, but I think about him periodically. Now I realize that God brought us together so that He could work through me. Funny how it has taken me so long to realize that. Thank you Lord. You have been with me all this time and it's only been in the past year that I have begun to recognize it.
